Baby blue for our sweet boy!

I've had this fabric for a few months and finally got around to making this outfit.
The longalls are made of baby blue corduroy
and the shirt is a baby blue cotton plaid.
I used Creations by Michie' pattern #137, the Jon Jon pattern.

For the shirt, I used Creations by Michie', Diaper Shirt and Shorts, # 118,
and cut the sides a little more straight down, rather than flared out.

I have used that pattern so much,
and I've been making the 24 month size for Reid since summer.
Thinking that he was probably outgrowing that size,
I used the same pattern, but made the seams 1/4" instead of 5/8".
That did the trick! He has room to grow in this one.
I guess that makes it a 24 1/2 month size???

It is nice and long, so I just rolled up the pants a bit
and it looks cute that way because the lining matches the shirt! :)

We watched our sweet boy this afternoon so that
his mom and dad could go out for an early New Year's Eve linner.
(That's what we call a meal between lunch and dinner time!)

He is so much fun, and VERY BUSY!!!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Grandma's Secret Spot Remover

FYI-"Craftmom" wrote me a comment saying that if the crayon was washable,
the original blue Dawn works great to get crayon out!
Since I wasn't sure what kind of crayon it was,
I decided to try my little bottle of
Grandma's Secret Spot Remover that I picked up at Hancock Fabrics.
It worked!
It is probably original blue Dawn in a different bottle! Haha!
This is what it looks like:

I used it the other day to get a little spot of black grease out of something
and it worked for that too!
The little bottle was only 3 or 4 dollars.
You need some!

I've been working on a little outfit for Reid that
I will post as soon as I get a picture of him in it!
Coming soon!

Happy Saturday!

Uh oh...crayon!

At the Christmas Eve church service Reid got hold of a blue crayon
and got a little bit on his outfit.
Of course, it got on the white smocked insert instead of the red corduroy!
It's just a little bit between the reindeer and the sleigh...
It looks more obvious in person than it does in this picture.

Has anyone successfully removed crayon from white fabric?
I'm scared to try anything for fear of making it worse.
Please let me know if you have tried something that works.
I did check for tips on Google and found a few ideas,
but would rather try something that one of you has tried.
Thank you!!!

Little Red Wagons

I stole another idea from Michie's blog ...

I used Creations by Michie' pattern #134, Baby Romper with Yoke.
The fabric is pima cotton gingham.
The plate I used is Little Red Wagons, by Mollie Jane Taylor.

I got the idea while clicking around on Michie's website one day,
but now I can't find the exact page that I found the picture on!
However, I did find a picture of a similar outfit in Jon Jon form!

Can't wait to see this on our sweet grandboy!
I will post a picture of him in it as soon as I get one!

Yes, I know it looks like a warm weather outfit, but guess what?
It is STILL 80 degrees here!
Expecting a cool front Monday...
it's a little hard to feel Christmasy when it's hot and humid. :/

Off to wrap gifts!
I'll put on some Christmas carols to help set the stage...
And turn down the A/C? And light a fire in the fireplace?
Maybe that will help...

Happy Sewing!
